Just My Thoughts

Right now I am craving... mint chocolate

Do you think the Loch Ness monster exists? of course

Last night....I had pizza, watched some of the Matrix and fell asleep on the couch for a while.

Currently I want... a new hair colour, a bigger bookshelf, a Polaroid camera, a pretty dress, a french manicure and a puppy

Today I really feel like reading other peoples words more than writing my own.

Laissez les bon temps roulet

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is the French-language term for the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, a traditional day for eating rich foods made with sugar, butter and other fats, and meat. This was because it was the last day before the start of Lent, which in Christian religious tradition was associated with ritual fasting. The term has come to stand for related celebrations, which in some areas take place for several days or even weeks before Ash Wednesday.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana is one of the most famous Carnival celebrations in the world.

As is the case with many Carnivals, the New Orleans Carnival season has its roots in preparing for the start of the Christian season of Lent. In New Orleans the season consists of parades, balls and king cake parties. The festivities are concentrated for about two weeks before and through Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras in French), the day before Ash Wednesday. There is usually a major parade each day with many days having several large parades.

Carnival parades in New Orleans are prepared by Carnival krewes. The organizers on the krewe floats toss strings of plastic colorful beads, coins, decorated plastic cups, and small toys and trinkets. The krewes follow the same parade schedule and route every year.

The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple to represent justice, gold to represent power and green to represent faith. The colors date back to 1872 and were selected by the Grand Duke Alexis Alexandrovitch Romanoff of Russia while visiting New Orleans. In 1892, the Rex Parade theme “Symbolism of Colors” assigned the colors their meanings.

You are the word I am the tune Play me

She was morning
And I was night time
I one day woke up
To find her lying
Beside my bed
I softly said
"Come take me"
For I've been lonely
In need of someone
As though I'd done
Someone wrong somewhere
I don't know where
Come lately

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me

Song she sang to me
Song she brang to me
Words that rang in me
Rhyme that sprang from me
Warmed the night
And what was right
Became me

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me

And so it was
That I came to travel
Upon a road
That was thorned and narrow
Another place
Another grace
Would save me

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the word
I am the tune
Play me

Bad Case Of Loving You

Whooaaaaa
The hot summer night fell like a net
I've got to find my baby yet
I need you to soothe my head
Turn my blue heart to red

Doctor, doctor, give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I've got a bad case of lovin' you

A pretty face don't make no pretty heart
I learned that, buddy, from the start
You think I'm cute, a little bit shy
Momma, I ain't that kind of guy

Doctor, doctor, give me the news
I got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I got a bad case of lovin' you
Whooaaa

I know you like it, you like it on top
Tell me, momma, are you gonna stop?

You had me down, 21 to zip
Smile of Judas on your lip
Shake my fist, knock on wood
I've got it bad, and I've got it good

Doctor, doctor, gimme the news
I got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I got a bad case of lovin' you

The Shoop, Shoop Song

Does he love me I wanna know

how can I tell if he loves me so?

(Is it in his eyes) oh no you'll be deceived

(is it in his sighs) oh no he'll make believe.

If you wanna know (shoop shoop shoop shoop

shoop shoop shoop) if he loves you so

it's in his kiss (that's where ist is oh yeah).

(Or is it in his face) oh no it's just his charms

(in his warm embrace) oh no that's just his arms.

If you wanna know (shoop shoop shoop shoop

shoop shoop shoop) if he loves you so

it's in his kiss (that's where it is)

woh-oh it's in his kiss (that's where it is).

Chorus:

Woh-oh-oh hug him and squeeze him tight

and find out what you want to know.

If it's love if it really is it's there in his kiss.

(How 'bout the way he acts) oh no that's not the way

and you're not listening to all I say.

If you wanna know (shoop shoop shoop shoop

shoop shoop shoop shoop) if he loves you so

it's in his kiss (that's where it is)

woh-oh it's in his kiss (that's where it is).

Chorus

Oh yeah it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is),

ooh it's in his kiss (that's where it is).

When God created woman

When God created woman , He was working late on the 6th day.

An angel came by and said: “why spend too much time on that one?”And the lord answered:

“Have you seen all the specifi-cations i have to meet to shape her?”

“She must be washable, but not made of plastic, have more than 200 moving parts which all must be replaceable and she must function on all kinds of food, she must be able to embrace several kids at the same time, give a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart and she must do all this with only two hands.”

The angel was impressed.

“Just two hands… impossible!”

And this is the standard model?!

“Too much work for one day… wait until tomorrow and then complete her.”

“I’ll not”, said the Lord. “I am so close to complete this creation which will be the favourite of my heart.”

“She cures herself when sick and she can work 18 hours a day.”

“The angel came nearer and touched the woman.

“But you have made her so soft, Lord”

“She is soft”, said the Lord, “But i have also made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome.

“Can she think?” The angel asked.

The Lord answered:

“Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate.”

The angel touched the woman’s check…

“Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her.”

“She is not leaking… It’s a tear” the Lord corrected the angel.

“What’s it for?” asked the angel.

And the Lord said:

“Tears are her way of expressing grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride.”

This made a big impression on the angel;

“Lord you are genius.

You thought of everything. The woman is indeed marvelous!”

Indeed she is!

Woman has strengths that amaze man.

She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.

She holds happiness, love and opinions.

She smiles when feeling like screaming, she sings when feeling like crying, cries when she is happy and Laughs when she is afraid.

She fights for what she believes in.

Stands up against injustice.

She doesn’t take “no” for an answer, when she can see a better solution.

She gives herself so her family can thrive.

She takes her friend to the doctor if she is afraid.

Her love is unconditional.

She cries when her kids are victorious.

She is happy when her friends do well.

She is glad when she hears of a birth or a wedding.

Her heart is broken when a next of kin or friend dies.

But she finds the strenght to get on with life.

She knows that a kiss and a hug can heal a broken heart.

There is only one thing wrong with her:

“SHE FORGETS WHAT SHE IS WORTH…”
