Wearing comfortable shoes makes dancing the night away a whole lot easier
I could easily eat french toast with honey for breakfast everyday
Spending some time alone can be so good for the mind
A simple salon trim and treatment can save my hair from feeling sad & dry
I need to worry less and remember: " Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength." - Corrie Ten Boom
I am very forgetful lately -I need to make bigger notes and actually read them
Life is too short to not wear all your "fancy" jewellery more often
Though I really want a Kindle, I doubt I could ever stop browsing around book shops (especially second hand book shops)
This is so true: ."...Regret is an appalling waste of energy; you can't build on it; it is good only for wallowing in." -Katherine Mansfield
Finishing one great book can reignite my passion for reading
I need more closet space asap - i'm just too messy without space to hide stuff
My new glasses sometimes slide down my nose slightly - it's a bit annoying
Having someone in my life that will make up silly songs with me is wonderful

There is always so much to do this time of year. Everyone and everything seems busy. The birds are nest building or egg sitting, insects are scurrying here and there as if there is no tommorow. Seeds need sowing, gardens need digging, weeds are growing, window sills need painting, rooms need decorating. No wonder I am a night owl, there aren't enough hours in the day.
But sometimes you just have to sit in the sun.
Or photograph pretty things.

Some things I just can't get enought of.................
*Incense - its cheaper than scented candles and smells just as good. I also adore the way the incense smoke floats around (its kind of beautiful). Currently i am burning aloe incense. My favourites are vanilla and Sandalwood.
* Royal blue - I'm over pink for now...and totally into royal blue. It really seems to suit me too (probably due to my darker hair). I need a beautiful royal blue dress for spring/summer.
* Mint chocolate - This is by far my favourite kind of chocolate at the moment. Whether its dark or milk chocolate -if it has mint in it, I will love it (and I will not want to share).
* Flowers - In my opinion, nothing uplifts a space (or my mood) like a nice bunch of flowers in a vase. I absolutely would buy a bunch of fresh cut flowers every week if I could afford it - BUT Since I'm on the broke side I may have to climb into peoples gardens and "borrow" flowers. (multi coloured roses and Stargazers are my fav's right now).
* Stretching - I love stretching. It makes me feel great and has really been increasing my flexibility (i can touch my toes, hooray!). I seriously need to buy some Yoga DVDs or start looking for a yoga/Pilate's class to join.
* The book im reading - The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is such an interesting book. I have not been making a lot of time to read lately, but when I do I so enjoy the journey this book is taking me on. It’s a bit dark, very detailed and probably not for everyone.

Layers
“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.”
Anais Nin
I have always been fascinated with layers. Full skirts of secrets, delicate fabrics piled up like soft snow over each other, a soft movement over the skin.
Layers should not come with weight, there should always be plenty of pockets of air, spaces where to hide and discover, a lightness that frees instead of imposing.
That is my type of skirt-the one I want my mind dressed of, with plenty of room for the cells, a nest to my constellations...

Random things.......
Right now I am drinking some nice rooibos (aka redbush) tea and enjoying the lovely gloomy weather
What is your dream job? Successful, published writer
Sometimes its much better to just go with the flow (and stop planning so much).
I like road trips I think they are a good time to catch up on chatting, music listening and photo taking.
I feel as though I am losing my mind - Its not official yet, but all the signs are there....just thought I should give you a heads up.

Random Thoughts.......
Bargain shopping always makes me feel so accomplished.
Sometimes a few extra hours of sleep can save the day
If a brownie is labelled "healthy", its not a real brownie
There's a silly little song stuck in my head
Too often I am the only thing standing between me and my dreams. Its time I got out of my way
Life rushes by way too fast for people not to take a camera everywhere they go
"Pravda" means truth in russian
Men and woman operate in very different time zones
What one word best describes your life at the moment? humbling

"When you die and go to heaven,
our maker is not going to ask,
"Why didn't you discover the cure for such and such?",
The only question we will be asked
in that precious moment is.
"Why didn't you become you?"
Elie Wiesel

No Big Deal....Being Short
This post is especially dedicated to all my short/small friends out there. I am a small person. Mind you when I say small, I mean small! Being carried by short legs is no easy task, but one gets used to not ever reaching the top shelf at the supermarket and having to ask a perfect stranger to get you the box of whatever it is one needs. Luckily, tall people are always willing to help and they do it with a smile on their face and a slight shake of their heads. You can almost hear what they are thinking: “Ah, this poor short woman, how cute!”
To be honest, in spite of all the setbacks, such as never finding pants or coats that really fit and must always be altered, I like my height (or lack of). It’s got definite advantages. I am ever so comfortable flying on Economy Class, and while everyone else is suffering from cramps, I can even cross my legs! If I fall I can’t really get too hurt since I’m already close to the ground. In case of an emergency I can hide under a large flower pot… well, there are just too many advantages to mention.
When one is short/small, wearing high heel shoes is not a choice. It's a way of life, at least to me. In a society where looks are so important, I find that more respect is given to taller people. I don’t know why this is but on the rare occasions when I wear flat shoes I do not get half the attention as when I wear high heels (this could be due to the fact that I am not really visible standing amidst everyone else) whatever the reason, high heel shoes are the main staple in my wardrobe and yes, they are always uncomfortable and make my feet hurt but who cares? A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do

Stools and step ladders? Yes, I confess. I own an entire collection and they are scattered throughout every room in my house
:
And so to make a long story short, (no pun intended) I just want to say that while I wish to have been born with longer legs, I am perfectly happy to be just cute-little-old-me, after all, great things come in small packages... so I’ve been told
